How the development of YOU is critical for your success

If someone handed you a million dollars, you had better hurry up and become a millionaire...otherwise, it will disappear quickly. Income rarely exceeds personal development. Oh now and again, it may take a jump, but unless you grow to match it, it will almost assuredly shrink back to an amount you can manage.

That is THE single reason lottery winners who were previously poor, almost always end up right back where they were financially or worse.

Your success is like a shadow... it matches YOU.

TRUE STORY:

Matt had a problem. You wouldn’t know it on first glance. He made lots of money, had a group of friends, nice house, nice cars, and had the respect most guys would desire. But he had a hidden problem.

His wife didn’t like him!

As if that wasn’t enough, he had two kids and those relationships were challenging as well. Those are big problems.

Can you imagine as a man, LOOKING like, smiling like, and pretending like everything was awesome, but dying inside because your kids don’t respect you and your wife doesn’t like you?

Talk about miserable!

Here is the point:

Where he was developed, he had success. (business)

Where he was undeveloped, he failed. (family relationships)

VERY SIMPLE.

FRAGMENTED SUCCESS

Like Matt, many people have fragmented success, because they have fragmented development. You can be very good in one area and very bad in another area.

---> It’s all about YOUR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT!

This is common sense that we all recognize all around us, but do not necessarily apply the idea to OURSELVES.

EXAMPLE:

How many times have you seen the athlete who is very good in one component of their game, but terrible in another area, within the sport?

Basketball great Shaquille O’Neal comes to mind. This guy was a monster around the basket! He could make moves in the post, had an array of power moves usually leading to thunderous dunks. He could block shots, and was a great rebounder...BUT COULD NOT SHOOT FREE THROWS to save his life!

Are you kidding me? You get paid millions of dollars, have an endless amount of time to practice in the best facilities, have access to the best coaching...you are a PROFESSIONAL...yet, half the high school basketball players in America can shoot free throws better than you? By the way, this is where the term, “hack a Shaq” came from. In other words, foul him, hack him on the arm when he gets the ball, and send him to the free throw line, because his skill in that area will not be effective.

Again: We often realize this around us, but do not necessarily apply it TO US.

I can’t tell you the amount of dads I have worked with, that have great business strategies, but no real parenting strategy. (Figuring it out as you go is NOT a strategy!)

--- You can guess the usual result...really busy life, made plenty of money, raised resentful or detached kids that often have huge issues to overcome.

Knowing that SUCCESS is directly correlated with personal development:

What is your current development plan for YOU?

The people in my MASTERMIND groups, are amazed, literally shocked, that everyone doesn’t have a self development plan. "How can it be?" they wonder. The only answer I can offer, is the average person simply doesn’t understand the value of consistently depositing the laws that make the world work into their minds. They just don’t know, what they don’t know!

If they did, they would start today, I guarantee it.

*TIP: Every person in your life, especially those closest to you, feels and experiences the benefits of a better YOU!

If you do not have a formalized plan, let me encourage you to make that happen. You are the most valuable asset you possess! How can you NOT invest in your most valuable asset?!

Passivity is the Opposite of Atomic Masculinity.

Don’t be passive! Get it done!
